Sumaya 0.0.8 Patch Notes

New Jobs: The Gig Economy Has Arrived

Six new civilian gig jobs are now live, each with its own sector, rank ladder, and progression track. All six are free to start, no milestone unlock required, so they slot in as side hustles alongside your regular civilian career.

πŸš— E-Hailing

Pick up passenger NPCs at random POIs around Sumaya and drive them to their destination for SR and XP. Build a hot streak to earn tip rolls. Find it in the Career menu under a new civilian sector with five ranks: Trainee Driver β†’ Driver β†’ Senior Driver β†’ Master Driver β†’ Elite Driver β†’ Legendary Hustler.

πŸ“¦ Pos Nasional Courier

Load parcels at the Pasaram depot and deliver them to player houses for SR and XP per parcel. Ranks run from Trainee Postman all the way to Pos Legend.

🚚 Tow Truck

Listen for crashes around Sumaya, hook the wreck, and tow it to the impound. Climb the ranks from Hookman to Wrecker King. (Note: the tow truck mesh is a placeholder β€” a proper model is on the way.)

πŸ“Έ Reporter / Photographer

Your phone pushes a target assignment β€” a POI, wanted suspect, or active fire. Open the Camera app, line up your shot, and capture it. The photo doubles as your submission. Progress from Stringer up to Editor-in-Chief.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Tour Guide

Pick up tourist NPCs at the airport, drive them through two to four landmarks with an idle timer at each stop, then bring them back. Rank up from Trainee Guide to Sumaya Tour Legend.

🍱 Restaurant Supplier

Load crates at Pasaram and deliver them to Mamak or FastFood worktops. Starts at Trainee Driver and tops out at Supply Chain Lord.

UI Improvements

  • Pos courier delivery labels now read naturally with digit-boundary spacing β€” "Lorong Kicai 1 #2" instead of "Lorong Kicai1 #2".
  • Gig job cards now show "Step X of N" progress in the subtitle rather than repeating the destination β€” much easier to follow at a glance, especially for multi-phase jobs like Pos courier (3 parcels) and Tow (3 phases).
  • Vehicle spawner cards now display sector-rank requirements as colour-coded pills (e.g. BOMBA Lv. 20, POLIS Lv. 35, KKN Lv. 45), clearly distinguishing rank-gated trucks from player-level-gated ones. Lock state updates live the moment you rank up.
  • Career locker (Bomba / Polis / Kesihatan) now has filter chips above the equipment grid β€” toggle between All, Available, Equipped, and Locked. Equipped pieces get a green border with a check badge so they're easy to spot.
  • Career locker UI animations: equipment cards stagger-pop in on open, hover and press feedback on every chip and button, a brief pulse when equipping an item, smooth colour transitions when switching filter chips, and an active green border and glow on outfit cards matching the kit-card equipped state.

Bug Fixes

  • Career locker menu no longer renders offset or cut off. Section labels (Outfits / Equipment) and the Unequip All button now appear correctly. The panel pins to the right on desktop and to the bottom on mobile and landscape phones.
  • Career locker tap targets on mobile are now the full equipment card rather than a tiny Equip button β€” previously around 17 px tall, well below the 44Γ—44 px touch standard.
  • Full map while driving no longer covers the on-screen throttle, brake, and steering controls. The map is blocked while in a driver seat, confirmed by a brief "Map unavailable while driving" toast, and auto-closes if you enter a vehicle with it open. The HUD minimap remains visible for navigation.
  • Bomba truck mobile controls now return correctly after using the rear shutter and hose equipment, preventing players from getting stuck in the vehicle camera without throttle, brake, steering, or an Exit button.
  • House locks now properly update door and gate collision, so locked homes actually block entry instead of letting players walk through closed doors.
  • Modern Terrace houses now sit correctly on their plots with hidden plot markers, reducing grass and plot geometry clipping through floors and porches.
  • Modern Terrace gate prompts now register consistently, including from the side of the driveway gate.
  • Saved furniture now restores with its placement data after rejoining and remains selectable and removable in placement mode.
